Who can apply for a COB Exchange Program?
All current OSU Business majors can apply. Students interested in the IB option programs should be senior or late junior standing at the time of participation. The Australia program can accept sophomores.
What is the GPA requirement?
Students need a 2.75 cumulative GPA in Business courses and need to be in compliance with each individual business review group. (Compliance is defined as a 2.5 GPA or higher in each group).
Are there any course pre-requisites for the program?
Yes, students going to IB option programs need to complete the following courses before their term of participation:
- BA 352 Organization Behavior or BA 350 Organizational Systems
- BA 390 Marketing
- BA 340 Finance
- BA 347 International Business
- BA 407 Exchange Orientation Class
What is the selection process and criteria for acceptance?
Step 1: Applications (available in Bexell 214) are submitted on January 15 for fall term programs and April 15 for the winter/spring Australia programs.
Applications require two reference forms (provided with application) and answers to two short essay questions. (You may submit your application before your reference forms are completed. Just instruct your references to submit the forms directly to Carol Leder in Bexell 214).
Step 2: Interviews are done shortly after application deadline. The interview is 30 minutes and consists of a short, informal presentation by the applicant on a pre-selected topic. The remainder of the interview will involve answering questions, many based on situations and/or scenarios that have happened to previous participants.
Applicants are judged based upon their perceived adaptability, maturity level and academic performance. Applicants must have been accepted into Professional School prior to participation. The IB option is earned in conjuction with a primary option.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR GERMANY PROGRAM: If you are interested in doing an internship while on study abroad in Bad Mergentheim, you MUST meet with an advisor and plan for this early. To be considered for an internship, you must apply in SPRING term one year BEFORE you go abroad. |
